Salil Parekh, CEO of Infosys, claims the business dismissed offenders for multiple employment in the previous 12 months.
Infosys is one of the firms that has taken a hard stance against moonlighting.
Infosys has said unequivocally that it does not encourage moonlighting.
Over the previous 12 months, Infosys has dismissed people who were doing two jobs.
The number of people sacked for dual employment was not disclosed by the IT business.
"No two timing - no moonlighting!" the company had said.
After Rishad Premji brought it up, the question of moonlighting became a hot topic.
Premji addressed the topic on Twitter, writing: "There has been a lot of talk about individuals working part-time in the IT business.Simply put, this is cheating."
"We will support them to work on certain gig projects after the prior approval of the managers.
We are also developing more comprehensive policies for that, while ensuring contractual and confidentiality commitments are fully respected.
However to be clear, we do not support dual employment," he said.
